there was an issue with scheduling and confirmation, but i called crying because i needed the appointment to get out a partially erupted wisdom tooth with a bad cavity. i got transferred to the manager, who squeezed me in at noon after i cried to her about everything going on! i was 10 minutes late but they still saw me, to my surprise they did an emergency extraction right on the spot!! it took less than 10 minutes, the doctor and nurse were AMAZING, and i’ll be going to get the rest of my wisdom teeth out in a couple months!! 100/10 in every department, i’ll never go to another dentist the staff here are outstanding!!! and if you have medicaid i HIGHLY recommend VB Family Dental!

Whoever was staffed at the front desk on 6/11/2026 @ 9:44AM wasn't very professional, in my humble opinion. She sounded like she didn't want to be at work, and whether she knows it or not, that bleeds through her tone over the phone. I had to run to get my medical card out of the car which she was on the line for and when I read my ID number off to her, the phone was very quiet as if she muted her end of the line (which is fine), but when I didn't get a response and kept saying, "Hello?," she didn't reply until after a few seconds of me saying that. When she finally says, "Yes, I'm here," I asked her if she heard the number or if I should repeat it, to which she replied, "Well, I didn't hear anything you just said, so...," which immediately rubbed me the wronf way, because she sounded very rude and unprofessional. It wouldn't have cost her anything to reply, "Oh, I'm sorry. No, I didn't catch that, can you repeat it?" or any number of ways she could've responded other than the snippy, arrogant way in which she chose to answer me. I did make an appointment, but honestly, I've already spoken to another practice taking new patients around the same time my appointment was made fo

I called this morning for the first time ans ask person do they accept Medicaid for adults and she explained that they just don't make an appointment for new patients to get a cleaning I understand that she repeated twice the same thing. I understand its a process, but when you are working with the public you have yo have top tier customer service. I hung up the phone after the poor service I received, clearly shes in the wrong field, or this company needs to handle the receptionist she was very nasty. I dont recommend this place ans I felt judged.

If you are nervous or afraid of the dentist like I am then I highly recommend going to Virginia Beach Family Dental. I love this place everyone from the front desk, dental assistants, and the Dentist make you feel so comfortable. From the time you walk through the doors the staff here make you feel so welcomed. Diane from the front desk did it for me just our initial telephone conversation reassured me that I made the right decision choosing this practice!

Make sure you pay attention to what the people leaving 1 star are saying because I wish I would have before picking this office. I wonder why some people are treated in a way that makes them want to leave 5 stars while others are being treated so poorly. The office environment is okay, not overly welcoming but not terrible either. The receptionists aren’t rude per se but also don’t make you feel comfortable. They just seem like they’re tired of dealing with people. Maybe the office is just really busy and maybe they’re understaffed. Either way I always try to see the good in places and people but I should have just listened to my gut feeling and not went there. The nicest person I came in contact with was the dental hygienist but unfortunately I never got to get my teeth cleaned because they don’t clean your teeth in the same visit with your hygienist. I thought that was so odd. My first appointment with her was cancelled (don’t know why, the office called me 30 mins before my scheduled appointment time and told me I would be rescheduled to a different week. Once I got in to see her I thought I was going to get a cleaning but she poked around and told me I needed a deep cleaning
